4 Jordan nationals held with 80 gms gold

KATHUA, July 31: The police today nabbed four Jordan nationals and recovered nearly 80 gms gold worth over Rs 2.40 lakh from their possession.
The police came to action after a local Jeweller Deepak Parkash was duped of some gold items by these people late last evening. These people on the pretext of purchasing some ornaments went to jeweller’s shop and asked him to display some items. During the process they managed to steal a ‘gold necklace’. They offered money in their country’s currency which the jeweler refused. They promised to come back to purchase items after getting the currency exchanged.
When the Jeweller found his items missing, he rushed to police station. The police alerted all the nakas and the accused were nabbed at a nakka point at Kalibari. They were traveling in an Inova car. The police arrested the accused and recovered nearly 80 tola gold from their possession including stolen items. The trader identified all the accused including a woman.
They were identified as Muna, Ramadan Rashid Saleh, Ahmed Ramadan Rashid Saleh, Naimeh Ramadan Rashid Saleh and Khaled Ramadan Rashid Saleh, all from Jordan. The police registered a case and started investigation. Their passports were also seized.
