4 killed, five injured in different accidents

SRINAGAR, Oct 12: Four persons were killed while as five persons were injured in separate accidents across Kashmir valley.
Reports said that Kafil-ur-Rehman, a ranger of Forest Department got killed alongwith his wife, daughter and driver when the vehicle they were travelling in plunged into a gorge. The ranger along with his family had left his home at Karnah for Srinagar six days ago. As he did not reach Srinagar police and army authorities launched a search operation to trace the family out.
The search party confirmed from the Army post at Sadhna Post that the vehicle has crossed the post while as the personnel posted at Chowkibal said that they didn’t spot the vehicle. Following this the search party launched a manhunt and found out that the car has plunged into the gorge. Bodies of the ranger along with the other family members and the driver were also retrieved.
A Xylo 2936-JK07 driven by Showkat Ali Son of Ramzan resident of Drass-Kargil on way from Jammu to Srinagar met with an accident at Sangam Chowk, Bijbehara. Three passengers namely Fayaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Tral, Mohammad Hussain, son of Mohammad Abass resident of Kargil and Daljeet Singh of JKALI Army unit sustained injuries in the mishap.
The injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Bijbehara for treatment where from Daljeet singh was referred to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for further treatment.
A Tipper 4672-JK01P hit a Tata Mobile 1755-JK05B at Markundal crossing, resulting in injuries to Abdul Gani Dar son of Reshi Dar and Altaf Ahmad son of Reshi Dar residents of Panzinara. Both the injured were shifted to hospital Sumbal where from Altaf Ahmad Dar was referred to JVC Bemina, Srinagar. Police has registered a case in this regard.
