4 killed in mishaps

SRINAGAR, Nov 1: Four persons were killed and eight others injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir Valley today.
A police spokesman said three passengers were killed when a Tipper bearing registration number JK03D/6948 and Tavera bearing registration number JK03D/1321 collided near a petrol pump at Barsoo, Awantipora, in Pulwama district.
The dead were identified as Kouser Mohi-ud-Din Ahanger son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din of Hanjiwera Pattan, Sajad Ahmed Peer son of Peer Bashir Ahmad of Peth Kanihama, Budgam, both students of Islamic University Awantipora, and Tavera driver Umar Farooq Reshi son of Farooq Ahmad Reshi of Sail, Awantipora.
Besides, seven persons were also injured in the mishap. All the injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
A Sumo bearing registration number JK01K/7671 hit and injured a pedestrian Junaid Rashid Masoodi son of Abdul Rashid of Kawoosa at Kawoosa, Budgam, in the jurisdiction of police station Magam. The injured was shifted to JVC Bemina, Srinagar for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
An unidentified vehicle hit and injured a girl, Shazia Gull daughter of Gull Mohammad Khan of Tangmarg near Board of School Education Bemina, Srinagar. The injured has been shifted to SKIMS Srinagar for treatment.
Police has registered cases in these accidents.
