4 killed in Ramban mishap

RAMBAN, Mar 26: Four persons were killed when a vehicle of Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Meghdar Sumbhar area in the jurisdiction of police station Dharmkund, here today.
According to the reports, the mishap occurred this evening at about 6.30 when a HCC dumper bearing registration number LG1227-T09 carrying three labourers, was on its way from Sumbhar to Kohli. In the mishap, three persons including two labourers and driver of the vehicle were killed on the spot while fourth one received serious injuries.
On getting information, a police party from police station Dharmkund reached the spot and started rescue operation in cooperation with local people by pressing into service local resources.
The deceased were identified as Mushtaq Ahmed (29) son of Mohd Ramzan of Harog, Shabir Ahmed son of Ghulam Qadir (20) of Meghdar and Karnail Chand (16) son of Desraj of Meghdar. The injured identified as Parvaiz Ahmed (22) son of Nazir of Sumbar was rushed to district hospital Ramban, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the mortuary room of a nearby hospital.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Dharmkund and further investigations were underway.
