4 more booked under PSA

JAMMU, Oct 19: Four more persons have been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for criminal assault on a Kashmir bound truck on October 9 by the district administration, Udhampur, taking total detentions in the case to nine.
With this, all 9 accused involved in planning and execution of the attack on the truck that later resulted into one person succumbing to burn injuries yesterday have been booked under PSA in addition to murder charges under Section 302 RPC.
Official sources said district police Udhampur submitted a fresh dossier to the District Magistrate, Udhampur detention of 4 more persons under the Public Safety Act.
District Magistrate, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, after examining the dossier, facts and material produced on record regarding the instant case and criminal history of 3 accused issued warrants for detention of the persons involved in the attack case under the PSA.
Based on the PSA order, all 9 accused have been shifted to Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu. The PSA detention order will be further examined by the Board through Home department.
Those booked under PSA today include Jasbir Singh son of Baldev Singh R/o Laddan Power House, Udhampur, Rahul Sharma son of Purshottam R/o Sambal, Udhampur, Suneet Singh son of Pardeep Singh R/o Sambal, Udhampur and Rameshwar Singh alias Guchhu son of Karan Singh R/o Sambal.
All the accused were booked vide FIRs No 367/2015 and 368/2015 lodged under Sections 307/336/436/147/148 /120-B/427 RPC and 3/5 of Explosives Substances Act. Now with one of the persons attacked in the incident succumbing to injuries the accused have been booked under Section 302 RPC for murder.
