4 more services come under PSGA

SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Government today notified four services of Transport and Public Works (R&B) Departments under the Public Service Guarantee Act, 2011.
According to the notification issued by the General Administration Department, renewal of driving licenses issued by the State Licensing Authorities and issuance of fitness certificate of vehicles have been brought under the ambit of PSGA.
RTO/ARTO concerned have been designated as officers, who will provide these services while as Deputy Commissioner concerned is the First Appellate Authority and Transport Commissioner is the Second Appellate Authority.
Time frame of 15 days has been fixed for renewal of driving licenses and 30 days for issuance of fitness certificate of vehicles.
Similarly, issuance of contractor cards “A”, “B”, “C” and “D” class by the Public Works (R&B) Department has also been brought under the ambit of PSGA. Superintendent Engineer is the designated officer for issuance of “B”, “C” and “D” Class while as Chief Engineer is the designated officer for “A” Class card.
Time frame of 45 days has been fixed for issuance of “A” class card while as 35 days for “B”, “C” and “D” class cards. In case of “B”, “C” and “D” class cards, Chief Engineer is the First Appellate Authority and Joint Development Commissioner (Works) Second Appellate Authority.
Similarly, in case of “A” class card, Joint Development Commissioner (Works) is the First Appellate Authority and Administrative Secretary in Second Appellate Authority.
