SRINAGAR, Mar 9: Police in Baramulla today seized four vehicles and arrested the drivers for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Ferozpora Tangmarg, Singhpora Pattan, and Kungamdara.
Authorities stated that police, under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg and SDPO Pattan, assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg, IC PP Mirgund, and Kungamdara, seized four vehicles.
The arrested drivers have been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Malla, son of Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Pati Yangoora; Gulzar Ahmad Teli, son of Mohammad Akbar, a resident of Hanjiwera Payeen; Yasir Ali Dar, son of Mohsin Dar, a resident of Kripalpora Payeen; and Naseer Ahmad Ganie, son of Noor Mohd Ganie, a resident of Babagund Pattan. “The drivers, along with their vehicles, were found involved in the illegal extraction/transportation of minerals, and accordingly, a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg & Police Station Pattan, and investigations have been initiated,” police said.
