4 peddlers nabbed in Budgam with charas

Srinagar, Feb 5: Police in Budgam today arrested four drug peddlers and seized charas from their possession.
Authorities said that a police party from PS Magam, stationed at a checkpoint in Wata Magam, intercepted a suspicious vehicle with registration number JK05G-2152 carrying three individuals.
The arrested individuals were identified as Abid Ahmad Bhat (Driver), son of Ab Majid Bhat; Zeeshan Ahmad Dar, son of Fayaz Ahmad Dar and Ahitsham Ashraf Wani alias Sahil, son of Mohd Ashraf Wani-all residents of Hazarpora, Aripanthan.
Upon searching, the police recovered 315 grams of charas from their possession, leading to their arrest. “The vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized,” police said.
Subsequently, police said, based on their disclosure, another drug peddler, identified as Amir Ahmed Ganiee alias Raja, son of Gh Ahmad Ganiee and resident of Peth Kanihama, was arrested. The police recovered 360 grams of charas powder from his possession.
A case under FIR No.13/2024, involving relevant sections of the law, has been registered at Police Station Magam.
