JAMMU, Sept 16: Army and police today recovered a large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives during a search operation at Mulchhitar forests in Bhandarkote area of Doda district. Seizure included four rifles.
Official sources said joint team of Rashtriya Rifles battalion of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) and Doda police conducted searches at Mulchhitar forests in Doda district after developing reports about a consignment of arms and explosives in the area.
Recoveries included one 12 bore rifle, three country made rifles, one magazine of SLR, two magazines of AK-47, two Chinese grenades, one grenade Number 36, one Chinese UBGL grenade, 778 rounds of assorted ammunition and one pouch.
After effecting recoveries from the forests, Army and police conducted searches there. However, no arrests were made.
