4 vehicles with 25 cattle seized, 3 smugglers held

RAJOURI, Nov 27: The police seized four vehicles loaded with 25 bovine animals in Thannamandi area and arrested three smugglers last mid night.
Official sources said that police party from Thannamandi led by SHO, Mazir Ahmed Dar and SI Sham Lal, under the supervision of SDPO, Iftikhar Choudhary during naka at Charrung bridge intercepted four Tata Mobile vehicles during last mid night and found a total 25 bovine animals being smuggled to Kashmir in them via Mughal Road.
While three smugglers were nabbed, at least four other persons managed to escape taking cover of darkness. All the vehicles were seized and cattle rescued by police team.
The vehicles seized are- JK11B/4585, JK11A/5897, JK11B/4398 and JK11A/5469. Those arrested are identified as Shahnaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Iqbal from Darhal, Maqbool Hussain, son of Jalla from Budhal and Mohd Amin, son of Abdul Ghani from Lah village in Thannamandi.
The police has registered cases under FIR NOs, 158/ 2017, 159/17 and 160/ 17 at Police Station Thannamandi. Further investigation was in progress.
