Ramban, Mar 20: District Mineral Officer(DMO), Ramban, Kulwant Singh has seized 4 vehicles used in illegal mining and transportation of raw materials from different areas of Sub-Division Ramsoo and Banihal in district Ramban during raids today.
On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam, DMO along with his team conducted raids in different areas of district to check illegal mining, extraction and transportation of raw materials.
DMO informed that during these drive vehicles including 2 dumpers, 1 excavator and screener used in illegal mining, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted were seized besides recommending for imposing heavy fine on violators.
The DMO informed that, DC directed the Department to take strict actions against illegal mining, we are trying to discourage it, it is in this context that a drive has been launched across the district, he added.
The DMO advised consumers to purchase minerals from legal sources only and stay away from illegal miners. ” He warned that FIR will be lodged against habitual violators if found involved in illegal transportation of minerals 2nd time.
