JAMMU, May 4: Surankote police foiled four different bovine smuggling bids and arrested four persons and seized same number of vehicles along with 16 bovine animals on Mughal Road last night.
Reports said that based on a reliable information regarding illegal transportation of bovine animals, a police party headed by I/C Police Post Behramgalla intercepted four Tata mobile vehicles at different places bearing registration No. JK05 F/ 7730, JK12/ 4356,JK11B/ 9065, JK02BB/ 7590 which were on its way from Bufliaz towards Kashmir.
During search of the vehicles 16 bovine animals which were found illegally loaded in these vehicles without any legal permission were rescued.
The accused drivers namely Parvaiz Ahmed, son of Alam Din, resident of Chak Saidpura in Shopian, Mohd Alyas, son of Mohd Rafiq, resident of Topa Mendhar, Zakir Hussain son of Abdul Aziz Bhati from Ahti in Rajouri and Ibrar Ahmed, son of Abdul Salam Dar from Behrote Tehsil Thannamandi were arrested and vehicles were seized on the spot.
In this regard a cases viz. FIR No 69/2019, 70/2019, 71/2019, 72/2019 u/s 188 RPC, 3 PC Act got registered and investigation taken up.
