4 youth prevented from joining militancy

SRINAGAR, Mar 16: Police prevented four youth from joining militancy and handed them over to their families after proper counselling.
In Budgam, police prevented two youth from joining militant ranks and were handed over to their families after counselling.
Police said that acting on specific information, Budgam police prevented two youth from joining militant ranks. “Both the teenagers had left their homes and went missing on 14th March. As soon as this information was received, police teams swung into action and traced both the boys in Tral area of Awantipora,” police added.
Both the boys are in their early teens and had got influenced by social media. “They were instigated by Pakistan based recruiting handlers through social media handles”, police said
Police counselled the duo and later handed them over to their parents.
“The families have hailed the efforts of police and thanked them for the timely action. The members of the society said that due to swift action by Budgam Police, the lives and future of the boys have been secured,” police said.
In Ganderal district, police prevented two youth from joining militancy. The two youth hailing from Batwina and Kurhama areas of Ganderbal had left home to join militancy.
Police said that they succeeded in bringing back these two youth. “Parents of both the youth were unaware about their clandestine activities,” police said.
“The parents should come forward and report any such activity of their wards so that they are mainstreamed through concerted counselling by experts”, police said.
