4 yrs RI to accused after 11 yrs long investigation, trial

JAMMU, Dec 27: 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Sanjeev Gupta today awarded four years RI to Sunil Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Akash and Parvez Iqbal for attacking on one Anil Abrol.
According to the police case, on December 16, 2001 the accused persons caused severe injuries on Anil Abrol with the sharp edge weapons at Muthi and snatched the chain and cash Rs 2300 from him.
After hearing PP GS Charak for the State, 3rd Additional Sessions Judge awarded two yrs RI and fine of Rs 10,000 each to all the accused under Section 326 RPC. The Court further awarded one year RI and fine of Rs 2000 each to all the accused under Sections 452/324 RPC.
The Court further awarded one year imprisonment and fine of Rs 2000 each to all the accused under Section 25 of Arms Act. The Court, however, clarified that all the sentences will run concurrently.
