JAMMU, Oct 7: Presiding Officer Fast Track Court YP Kotwal today awarded four years rigorous imprisonment to Rameshwar Sharma and Varinder Sharma, both sons of Sham Lal Sharma, who were facing trial in kidnapping of college going girl.
After hearing APP Rakesh Badyal appearing for the State whereas Advocates Vilakshan Singh and Vikrant Sharma appearing for the accused, Presiding Officer Fast Track Court observed, “imposition of inadequate sentence, particularly against the mandate of legislature, is not only injustice to the victim of the crime and the society as a whole in general but also at times encourages the criminals”.
With these observations, court awarded four years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 20,000 each to both the accused.
