SRINAGAR, Oct 7: Police has booked 40 persons for illegal cultivation of bung in different areas of Aishmuqam in Anantnag district.
A police spokesman said that police station Aishmuqam along with Tehsildar Pahalgam and Excise Department started a bung destruction campaign since October 3 in different areas of Aishmuqam. The joint team destroyed bung cultivation in Hapatnar, Grend, Amad, Nagbal and Gogaldara. During the five days of the campaign bung cultivation spread over the 200 kanals of land was destroyed and cultivators were booked under relevant sections of law.
