40 bovine animals rescued, one smuggler arrested

SAMBA, May 5: Vijaypur police in district Samba today foiled a bovine smuggling bid after arresting one smuggler and rescuing 40 bovines.
Acting on reliable information received at P/S Vijaypur about smuggling of bovines from Bishnah by foot through Mansar-Udhampur Road towards Kashmir via Vijaypur, a police party of P/S Vijaypur headed by Inspector, Rakesh Bamba, SHO, P/S Vijaypur under the supervision of S. Baljeet Singh, SDPO Vijaypur and Faisel Qureshi, Additional SP Samba laid a special naka at National Highway, Vijaypur near Vegetable Market and arrested a bovine smuggler who was trying to smuggle 40 bovines by foot from Bishnah, district Jammu.
The accused person has been identified as Mohammed Gushi, S/o Bashi Mohammad of Khojipur, Bishnah. All the 40 cattle were rescued & shifted to safer place.
A case FIR No. 69/2019 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA act registered at P/S Vijaypur. Further investigation has been started.
