JAMMU, Sept 2: At least 40 more Congress functionaries from Nowshera and Jammu North today resigned from the primary membership of the party to join Ghulam Nabi Azad camp.
JKPCC Executive Committee Member, senior leader and son of Beli Ram Sharma(Ex-MLA Nowshera), Rajinder Parshad Sharma along with Subhash Kapoor Ex-Chairman Municipal Committee Nowshera, Ashok Kumar- working president Block Congress Committee Nowshera, Ashok Kumar Atri-former vice chairman MC Nowshera, Baldev Raj Choudhary -BCC general secretary, Neelam Choudhary and Vijay Bakshi both Ex-Councilors MC Nowshera, Rishav Sharma, PYC (Assembly president ), several Sarpanchs and Panchs resigned from the Congress Party in support of Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Meanwhile, twenty more Congress functionaries/ leaders from Jammu North under the leadership of Thakur Balwan Singh former MLA Marh and former PCC general secretary, resigned from all the positions and primary membership of the party to support Azad. They forwarded their resignation to Party president Sonia Gandhi and JKPCC chief, Vikar Rasool Wani.
Prominent among them included- PCC secretary Shamsher Singh Chib, Block president Bhalwal-Raj Dev Singh Jamwal, Baljit Singh Manhas former vice president PYC , Raman Sharma gen secy DCC Jammu Rural, Kuljit Singh Sarpanch Raipur -B, Santosh Manhas -vice chairperson Kissan Cell J&K, Chanchal Gandotra-gen secy Cong Seva Dal and many others.
