JAMMU, July 25: Forest Minister Bali Bhagat today said over 400 acres of State land has been retrieved from encroachers and added that his department would intensify its anti-encroachment campaign.
“Everyone is equal before law irrespective of caste, creed, region, religion…And serving of notice by forest department to a former minister is a testimony to the fact that action against encroachers would continue,” Bhagat said.
He said the step (sending notice to a former minister) has sent out a strong message that the anti-encroachment drive will continue with more intensity and no one will be allowed to encroach even an inch of forest land in the State.
Bhagat said the forest department’s drive of reclaiming encroached forest land is being appreciated by the people.
He said 400 acres of forest land have already been retrieved from the encroachers since the formation of BJP-PDP coalition Government in the State.
