400 kanals forest land retrieved from encroachers

JAMMU, Feb 2: Forest Department removed encroachment from 400 kanals in Kalidhar forest range.
As per official spokesperson, Forest Protection Force staff of Kalidhar Forest Range along with police personnel retrieved 400 Kanals of forest land in Village Balli from the illegal possession of Ram Dass, son of Jalla Ram of Balli, Sita Ram, son of Kirpa Ram, Dev Raj, son of Singu Ram, Kamblu, son of Jalla Ram, Joginder Lal, son of Shanker Dass and Shakti Kumar, son of Singhu Ram by removing brushwood fencing from forest land.
The drive was carried out by the team constituted by Dr VS Senthil Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer Jammu.
The team comprised of Suresh Kumar, Block Officer Khour, Surjeet Singh Block Officer, Choura Block and Vinay Kumar Block Officer, Chowki Block. The whole operation was carried out in presence of police and Naib Tehsilder as Duty Magistrate.
The team faced resistance but retrieved 400 kanals of forest land from the possession of encroachers. The team also removed brushwood fencing.
Forest Offence Report (FOR) for violation of Section 6 of J&K Forest Act has also been registered against the said encroachers.
