DODA, June 3: Forest Department here today foiled an inter-State smuggling of scattered Bhoot Keshi herb with the seizure of 400 kg of banned forest produce (Scattered Bhoot Keshi herb) at Kahi Khandalwad under the jurisdiction of Bhalesa range in Forest Division Bhaderwah.
On specific information developed by Range Officer Bhalesa, Suresh Singh Jamwal, sleuths of Forest Department and Forest Protection Force under the supervision of DFO Bhadarwah, Chander Shekhar started a search operation along Bhallesa-Chamba border.
During search, 400 kg of the banned forest produce was seized while it was being illegally transported to Chamba town of HP and was dumped in the mountains area.
A case under Section 26 of Indian Forest Act has been registered in this regard.
