Udhampur, Dec 25: 40th District Udhampur Computer Point Open Chess Championship-2016 got underway here today.
The Championship was played under the FIDE World Chess Championship rule which took place at Computer Point Technologies Institute at district Udhampur.
The Championship was organized by District Udhampur Chess Association under the Aegis of All J&K State Chess Association affiliated to All India Chess Federation.
The Championship will be held in all categories including Open Title Computer Point Champion 2016.
Aman Kalsotra, Director Computer Point Technologies & official of District Udhampur Chess Association said: “We are thrilled to hold the Championship in such a conducive atmosphere”.
In the School Category, Rishav Khajuria of Govt. Higher Secondary School Boys Udhampur lifted Under-16 boys’ title.
The matches were officiated by Vijay Singh and Sudhir Khajuria.
