SRINAGAR : Under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) and Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS), 414478 widows and old age persons were being provided pension in the Jammu and Kashmir, Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo said today.
In reply to a question by Devinder Singh Rana in Legislative Council, Ms Itoo said 12,900 old age persons and 4730 widows were being provided pension under NSAP in the state. Under ISSS 1,46,804 old age persons and 1,33,944 widows were being, provided pension in the state, she said. However, she said, pension is being provided to the approved beneficiaries as per the availability of funds. During th current financial year an amount of Rs 8676.121 lakh and Rs 4223.758 lakh stands released in favour of implementing agencies for disbursement of pension under ISSS and NSAP respectively in the state.
