417 fake gun licenses recovered

JAMMU, July 25: Police today recovered 417 fake gun licenses in Jammu district.
A police officer said on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday, information was received that one Tirath Singh of Gadigarh, who owns Gun houses, was allegedly storing forged gun licenses in his under-construction building at Gadigarh near Harward College.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 177/2024 Under Section 318(4), 339, 336, 340(2), 61(2) of the BNS was registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation set into motion.
Based on the input, a raid was conducted in the under-construction building in the presence of a Magistrate and a bag containing 417 fake gun licenses was recovered along with other documents, he said.

Asked about the place where the fake licenses were made and other details related to the beneficiaries, the police officer said, “We’re verifying all the facts. It is too early in the investigation to comment.”
