POONCH, Apr 13: At least 43 women were injured after roof of a house collapsed at Khaneter village in district Poonch today.
Sources said that the dead body of Zakir Hussain Shah’s daughter, who died in Kashmir was brought to home for last rites and her funeral prayer was to be held at 11 AM, while the women of the area were gathered there for condolences and standing on roof top of the house. Suddenly, the roof of pacca but old house collapsed causing injuries to 43 women.
The injured women were taken to Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital Poonch where after treatment all were discharged.
Station House Officer Poonch, Ranjit Singh Rao said that the incident was reported near High School Khaneter in Poonch.
Medical Superintendent DH Poonch, Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that the hospital received 37 injured, in which 31 were discharged after giving first aid, while 6 other were discharged after keeping them under observation for 4 hours.
