44 bovine animals rescued, 3 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, May 24: Udhampur Police today rescued 44 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers.
Police team, led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Chaman Gorkha, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs. Udhampur, Sahil Mahajan seized two vehicles carrying 20 bovines and arrested three smugglers, identified as Irshad Ahmed son of Farid Ahmed of Zero Morh, Reasi, Tariq Ul Islam, son of Mohd Ramzan of Kulgam and Mohd Rafiq son of Ghulam Mohd Bhatt of Kulgam.
In this regard, FIR number 229/2022, 231/2022 under relevant sections of law were registered in Police Station Udhampur.
In another success, Police party of PS Chenani, led by Inspector Om Parkash under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Ahmed Shaafi, intercepted one truck PB 10FF 5862 at Motorshed and rescued 24 bovines, which were being smuggled towards Kashmir valley. Driver of the truck, however, managed to escape taking advantage of darkness.
In this regard, case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Chenani and the said vehicle was also seized.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of SSP Udhampur, Dr Vinod Kumar.
