JAMMU, Feb 11: The 47th Samarpan Divas of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhaya was observed by the Party at its Headquarters with the reverence and dedication. The death anniversary of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhaya is observed as ‘Samarpan Divas’ by the Party. On the day all workers rededicated themselves to the propogation and achievement of the values and goals of the party. Pt. Upadhaya’s ‘Akatammanvwad’, integral humanism, forms the basic tenet of the BJP’s ideology, which envisages the development of, spiritualism, intellect, mind and body of an individual. The function was presided over by State President & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and MP Rajya Sahba Shamsher Singh Manhas.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing the function, said that BJP workers on this day reiterate their resolve to continue struggle for emancipation of mankind from narrow-mindedness, parochialism, biases and prejudicies. The Party has come a long way from Jana Sangh when it was confined to some Urban areas of North India. The ideology and spirit of Pt. Upadhaya has ultimately blossomed now and BJP has come to dominate almost all the States of India, he added.
The newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, in his address, while stressing the importance of the ideology for any political party, said that Karma is the fountain head of achievement of all the human society. Pt. Upadhaya in his entire life worked relentlessly and without any expectation of personal gain or reward and we must follow his example in serving the society.
National Executive Member & MLA Dr. Nirmal Singh, dwelt on the challenges that the Party is going to face in the coming days and said that Pt. Upadhaya’s message is going to enable us to meet the same. The patience, perseverance and dedication, the hallmarks of Pt. Upadhaya’s life, are going to help us to render service to the people of the State who have reposed faith and trust in our party during the recently held Assembly elections.
State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul threw light on the life of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhaya and mentioned various instances of his life which indicated his intellect, humanism, simplicity and total absence of any arrogance on account of his being an eminent person.
