48 bovine animals rescued, 15 smugglers arrested

REASI, June 21: Foiling several attempts of bovine smuggling in Reasi district, Police today rescued 48 animals and arrested 15 smugglers.
Reports said that in a night long operation, team of Police Station Mahore, led by SHO Karnail Singh, foiled six bovines smuggling attempts and rescued 36 bovines from the possessions of 12 smugglers, who were arrested.
The arrested smugglers were identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Noor Sain of Shikari, Hassan Mohd , son of Roshan Din of Shikari, Shahnawaz, son of Shah Ibrahim of Thuroo, Imran Ali, son of Diwan Ali of Kansoli Sella Mahore, Rayaz Ahmed son of Shan Ibrahim of Thuroo, Basharat Ali son of Mohd Saber of Thuroo, Riaz Ahmed son of Gulam Mohd, Zakir Hussain son of Mohd Hussain of Shikari, Manawar Hussain son of Sultan Mohd of Thuroo and Mubarkh Malik, son of Mohd Maqbool of DH Marg Tehsil Kulgam.
In another success, team of Police Post Malikote intercepted two bovine smugglers and rescued four bovines from their possession. The smugglers were arrested on the spot and they were identified as Irshad Hussain, son of Nathia Khan of Bhagankote, District Reasi, Krishan Singh son of Bhag Ram of Bhagankote District Reasi.
While foiling another attempt of bovines smuggling, Police team of SPP Chillad intercepted three smugglers and rescued eight bovines from their possessions. Accused were arrested and they have been identified as Mohd Rafiq, son of Fiaz Mohd of Judda, Talib Hussain son of Ashiq Ali and Mohd Aslam son of Kallu, both resident of Hunder, District Reasi.
