RAMBAN, Mar 8: Around 48 families have been shifted to safer place after soil erosion in village Dhran in Sub Division Gool today.
As per sources, the inhabitants of village Dhran heard a heavy blast like sound and after that soil erosion started around 12:30 pm today.
To save their lives, the families started running to safer place.
After getting information, officials of District Administration including SDM Sameer Ahmed Rishu immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. The whole village comprising of around 48 families was vacated.
SDM while talking to EXCELSIOR that soil erosion in village Dhara started in the afternoon. As a precautionary measure, 48 families along with their livestock have been shifted to safer places so far.
“Some houses got damaged due to soil erosion, while there is no loss of life or casualty reported”, he added.
He stated that 50 tents and one month ration will be provided to the sufferers tomorrow.
