NEW DELHI : Government is working on paperless VIP quota in trains and there is a proposal on booking Railway Ticket on Internet using unique identity, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu informed the Lok Sabha today.
Replying to a question during Question Hour, the Railway Minister said under this new system, the problem of booking ticket on short notice as well as the problem of cancellation will be solved.
The Minister also informed that Railways has also begun a new service for all citizens of the country under which TTE can also confirm tickets using a ”TTE handle” in the train itself. This TTE handle would be linked with a central system to keep a check on corruption.
He said since April 1, the Railway will also begin a service in which those passengers who have a waiting list ticket and were not getting a confirmed ticket, will be given a confirmed ticket in another train which is going to the same place even in a Rajdhani. These passengers will be travelling on the same rate in Rajdhani or in other train. (AGENCIES)
