JAMMU, Oct 31: 48th Annual General Meeting of The Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu Local Centre was held at Institutional Complex at Channi Himmat.
It was presided over by Hem Chander Jerath, Chairman of Jammu Local Centre. A large number of corporate members from all disciplines of engineering attended the AGM.
Er. Mohinder Singh, Honorary Secretary, while welcoming the members, presented the Annual Report for the year 2014-2015 and highlighted the activities of the Local Centre.
Er. Ajay Gupta, took over as the new Chairman and Er. B. L. Rawal as new Honorary Secretary for the session 2015 – 2016 and 2016 – 2017. Results of elections to the Committee of Jammu Local Centre for the Sessions 2015 – 2016 and 2016 – 2017 was announced by Er. J. B. S. Johar, Convener & Past Chairman of IEI, Jammu Local Centre.
The Committee for the session 2015 – 2017 will comprise of Er. Ajay Gupta, Chairman, Er. B. L. Rawal, Honorary Secretary, Er. Hem Chander Jerath, (Past Chairman) Er. Mohinder Singh, Past Honorary Secretary, Er. Braj Bhushan Sharma, Er. Anil Verma, Er. Samir Sharma, Er. P. K. Nanda, Er. Rabinder Shekher, Er. C. Paul Sharma, Er. Sudhir Kumar Sethi, Er. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Er. Bhawna Sharma, Er. Naresh Gupta, Er. Ravi Kumar Chanyal, Er. S. Harbans Singh, Er. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Er. Jatinder Singh Kapoor, Er. Sanjay Khar.
Ajay Gupta is a Chief Engineer in J&K Power Development Department and is presently on deputation to J&K State Power Development Corporation. An alumnus of erstwhile REC Srinagar, now NIT Srinagar, Ajay Gupta has a vast experience in power sector and has remained Chief Engineer, EM&RE Wing, Jammu and Systems & Operation Wing, Jammu. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) since 2005.
Er. B. L. Rawal, Retired Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), J&K Govt and currently working as Project Engineer on Construction of Bikram Chowk Flyover Project at Jammu..
Er. Mohinder Singh, Honorary Secretary of the centre conducted the proceedings and delivered the vote of thanks.
