JAMMU, Dec 2: A total of 49 candidates including sitting and former Ministers and Legislators have joined the poll fray for the fifth phase of the assembly election for which polling is scheduled to be held on December 20.
In Jammu district, a total of 18 candidates filed their nomination papers for Gandhi Nagar, Jammu East, Jammu West, Bishnah, RS Pura, Suchetzgarh and Raipur-Domana assembly constituencies.
In Gandhi Nagar constituency, 3 candidates have filed their nomination papers, who include Minister for Housing, Culture, Horticulture Raman Bhalla (Congress), Amrik Singh Reen (PDP) and Neeraj Kumar (BCP).
In Jammu East constituency, Independent candidate Sanjeev Gupta filed his nomination papers.
In Jammu West constituency, 2 candidates have filed their nomination papers today including Ghaneshan (Independent) and Surinder Singh Shingari (Congress).
In Bishnah constituency, BMP candidate Vicky Dogra filed his nomination papers.
In RS Pura constituency, 4 candidates filed their nominations papers who include Suman Lata Bhagat (Congress), Romesh Mottan (NC), Kesar Parveen (JKNPP) and Devinder Singh (Independent).
In Suchetgarh constituency, 4 candidates filed their nomination papers including Former Minister RS Chib (Congress), TS bajwa (PDP), Rajinder Singh (UDP) and Former SSP Bhupinder Singh (Independent).
In Raipur-Domana constituency, 3 candidates filed their nomination papers including. They were Chaman Lal Manyal (PDP), Satpal Lakhotra (NC) and Naresh Salgotra (Independent).
Meanwhile, in district Kathua, 14 candidates today filed their nomination papers for five Assembly constituencies including Kathua, Bani, Basohli, Hiranagar and Billawar Assembly constituencies.
In Kathua constituency, 6 candidates today filed their nomination papers who include Robin Ramkrishan alias Robin Sharma (Independent), Jamit Singh (Independent), Gurnam Singh (All J&K Kissan Mazdoor Party), Manoj Kumar (CPI), Sunil Majotra (Covering Candidate BSP) and Om Parkash (Independent).
In Bani constituency, 2 candidates filed their nomination papers. They are Mohammad Salim Lone (PDP) and Jeevan Lal (BJP).
In Basohli constituency, 2 candidates filed their nomination papers including Darshan Kumar (Independent) and Charan Dass (Independent).
In Billawar constituency, 2 candidates filed their nomination papers including Sham Lal Gupta (Independent) and Naresh Kumar (BSP).
In Hiranagar constituency, 2 candidates filed their nomination papers who include Chandu Ram (NC) and Ram Dass (Covering Candidate NC).
In district Rajouri, 17 Candidates filed their nomination papers for the Nowshera, Darhal, Rajouri and Kalakote Assembly constituencies.
In Nowshera constituencies, 6 candidates have filed their nomination papers who include Radhey Sham Sharma (NC), Yash Paul (NPP), Rajinder Kumar (Independent), Haq Nawaz (BSP), Vijay Kumar Bali (HJP) and Ravinder Kumar Sharma (INC).
In Darhal constituency, 2 candidates have filed their nomination papers who include Nazir Hussain (Independent) and Choudhary Naseem Liaqat (Independent).
In Rajouri constituency, 3 candidates have filed their nomination papers including Shrafat Ali (BSP), Ghulam Mustafa (Independent) and Qamar Hussain (PDP).
In Kalakote constituency, 6 candidates have filed their nomination papers including Ashok Kumar Sharma (INC), Mohd Yaqoob (Covering Candidate INC) Abdul Ghani Kohli (BJP), Wasim Kohli (covering candidate BJP), Asad Bari Shah (PDP) and Majid Hussain Shah (covering candidate PDP).
