‘The Golden Wing’ wins at IFFLA 2017

MUMBAI: “The Golden Wing” has received the grand jury prize for best feature at the 2017’s Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA).

Directed by Bobby Sarma Baruah, the film shot in Assam is a rare project made in the Rajbangshi language.

Director Karishma Dube’s film “Devi” won the grand jury prize for best short at the recently-concluded 15th annual edition of the cinematic extravaganza.

“A Billion Colour Story”, helmed by debutant director N Padmakumar, won the audience choice awards for best feature film.

On the other hand, “An Insignificant Man” was picked up as their favourite documentary feature, which has been directed by Khushboo Ranka and Vinay Shukla and produced by filmmaker Anand Gandhi.

Under the same category, director Onir’s “Aaba” was chosen as the best short film.

A special jury mention for feature was made for Haobam Paban Kumar’s “Lady of the Lake” and shorts special mention went to “Gudh”, directed by Saurav Rai. (AGENCIES)
