5 agri-entrepreneurs of ABI Centre of SKUAST-J to get aid

JAMMU, Mar 23: Five budding agri-entrepreneurs of Agri-Business Incubation (ABI) Centre, SKUAST-J, nurtured under the patronage of Prof. B.N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-J were selected by the Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare for the award of healthy grant-in-aid on the basis of their innovative agri-business presentations during the recently held Selection & Investment Committee evaluation meeting at New Delhi.
These start-ups were trained at ABI Centre, SKUAST-J during its agri-entrepreneurship training & funding programmes.
Prof. B.N Tripathi assured the start-ups of complete support and hand-holding till they attain a full-fledged successful commercial status.
He was speaking during the 13th meeting of RIC members at SKUAST-J, Main Campus, Chatha.
The RIC consisted of Prof. S.K Gupta, Director Research, SKUAST-J, Des Raj, DGM, NABARD, Satish Sharma, Jt. Director Agriculture (Extn), Prof. Ashok Aima, Former VC, CUJ, Prof. Dileep Kachroo, Ex-Registrar, SKUAST-J, Annil Suri, MD, A.B Industries, Jammu & Vipul Shah, ICAR-IARI nominee, New Delhi who attended the meeting online.
Earlier, Prof. Jyoti Kachroo, CEO/P.I, ABI Centre, SKUAST-J & Member Secretary, RIC said that 8 batches of potential agri-entrepreneurs consisting of more than 107 incubatees have been trained at ABI Centre, SKUAST-J out of which 31 start-ups have been awarded with a total grant-in-aid sanction of Rs. 3.33 crores by the MoA& FW, GoI till now.
Proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Dr. Yamini Raut & Tarunjeet Singh. Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Jyoti Kachroo.
