KISHTWAR, Nov 19: Police today arrested five persons under Wild Life Protection Act here today.
As per reports, five persons were hunting wild animals in Palmal forest and killed 2 wild goats.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and arrested all the five persons, who have been identified as Chaman Lal, son of Tej Ram and Mohammad Iqbal, son of Abdul Jabber, both residents of Sangram Bhata, Riaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Qayoom, Wasim Raja, son of Abdul Qayoom and Aziz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Ishtiaq, all residents of Sarkoot.
Three .12 bore rifles along with 10 live cartridges have been seized from their possession.
The accused were booked under FIR number 222/13 under Section 6/31/51 Wild Life Protection Act and 3/25 Arms Act.
