Srinagar, May 19: Police in Baramulla today arrested 5 persons and seized 5 vehicles for the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
A police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Sajjad Bukhari seized 2 vehicles (1 Tractor, and 1 Tipper) and arrested 2 persons at Darpora Delina, involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
“They have been identified as Javid Ahmad Lone son of Late Ab Khaliq Lone and Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat both residents of Delina,” police said.
Similarly in another action, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Imtiyaz Ahmed seized 3 vehicles (tractors) and arrested 3 persons, involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Ferozpora Nallah Kunzer.
“They have been identified as At Ferozpora Nallah Kunzer Sadam Hussain Lone son of Ab Rashid resident of Goigam, Sahil Ahmad Bhat son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat & Mudasir Ahmad Bagh son of Ab Aziz Bagh, both residents of Peth Kanihama,” police said.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at respective police stations and an investigation has been initiated.
