JAMMU, Mar 28: The House today took up discussions on Private Members’ bills even as one bill of PDP member was dropped.
A Bill to amend state Ranbir Panel Code and CrPC was introduced by Naresh Kumar Gupta who withdrew it after Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar assured him that government is contemplating bringing a similar amendment in near future.
Similarly Bills to amend CrPC were moved by Murtaza Ahmed Khan and Naresh Kumar Gupta who too withdrew them after assurances by Mr. Sagar.
A Bill to provide food and nutritional security was introduced by Ajay Sadhotra which he also withdrew after the reply of Minister for CA&PD, Qamar Ali Akhoon.
A Bill to provide for conservation of biological diversity was introduced by Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri who withdrew it after Minister for Forest, Mian Altaf Ahmed assured him that a bio diversity board in the State is being constituted shortly.
A bill to provide for creating an identification database and registration authority for J&K was introduced by Murtaza Ahmed Khan which was dropped by the House after the satisfactory reply by Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather.
