JAMMU, July 15: Billawar police today arrested five bootleggers and recovered a large quantity of illicit liquor from their possession.
Arrests were made from village Budhi Duggaini under the jurisdiction of Billawar police station.
The bootleggers have been identified as Hem Raj, Ceetu, Chet Ram, Banku and Karnaila, all residents of Duggaini.
Police destroyed a large quantity of lahan on spot and recovered the illicit liquor from their possession.
A case has been registered against the accused at Billawar police station.
Police parties under the supervision of SDPO Basohli Mohammad Rafiq made arrests.
