SAMBA, Jan 14: In its fourth consecutive day, District Police Samba has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur by rescuing five animals.
Acting on reliable information regarding transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Vijaypur while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka AIIMS NHW, Vijaypur, signaled a Mahindra vehicle having registration Number JK02CA-5217to stop.
Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle and managed to fled away from the spot. The alert cops chased the vehicle and intercepted it a few meters away from the naka point. However, driver managed to escape taking the advantage of darkness.
During checking of the vehicle, five cattle were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 11/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
