RAMNAGAR, Aug 18: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued five numbers of cattle even as the smugglers managed to escape.
These bovines were being smuggled in a vehicle, bearing Registration Number JK14F-7456, which was intercepted at Dalsar Road naka checking by a Police party from PS Ramnagar.
Before the Police party could check the vehicle, driver fled from the spot taking advantage of darkness. During checking, five bovine animals were found tied with ropes in the vehicle for their smuggling.
Police rescued the animals and seized the vehicle besides registering a case in this connection at PS Ramnagar.
