JAMMU, May 18: Police in Nagrota Sub-Division claimed today they have foiled 5 bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 44 animals and seizing 5 vehicles.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Nagrota foiled three bovine smuggling bids, rescuing 23 animals and seizing 3 vehicles from Tawi Bridge Sidhra and Ban Toll Plaza.
He said two bovine smuggling bids were foiled by a team of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, rescuing 21 animals and seizing two trucks.
While one person has been arrested 5 FIRs under the relevant sections of the law have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli.
Further investigation into all the cases is underway.
