KATHUA, Jan 17: Hiran-agar police rescued 5 bovine animals.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Hiranagar police station laid a naka at Kootah Morh on Saida Road and signaled a Mahindra vehicle to stop for checking.
On seeing police team, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 5 bovine animals from the vehicle, but the smugglers managed to escape from the spot taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Hiranagar police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the bovine smugglers.
Police team led by SHO Hiranagar police station Inspector Naveen Angral foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of SDPO Diwakar Singh and SSP Kathua Neeva Jain.
