JAMMU, Nov 10: Chinore police today rescued 5 bovine animals and arrested four smugglers.
A police spokesman said that on specific inputs, police party from Chinore Police Post laid a naka and intercepted two Tata mobile vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AX-6806 and JKO2AN-1265.
During search, police rescued 5 bovine animals and arrested four smugglers, who have been identified as Asgar Ali, son of Mohammad Safi, Abdul Aziz, son of Rehmat Ali, Altaf Hussain, son of Nazir Ahmed, trio residents of Nagrota and Ashok Kumar, son of Des Raj of Domana, he added.
The accused were trying to smuggle the bovine animals from Kanachak via Keri to Valley, but their ill designs were busted by the Chinore police, he maintained.
A case under FIR No 411/13 and under Section 188 RPC, 2/ 3 PCA Act has been registered at Domana Police Station and investigation started.
Police party headed by Rattan Singh Rana made the arrest under the supervision of Additional SP Jammu ML Kaith, SHO Vijay Choudhary and SDPO Domana Sandeep Mehta.
