5 bovines rescued by Ghagwal police

SAMBA, Jan 31: District police Samba foiled bovine smuggling bid in the jurisdiction of P/S Ghagwal today by rescuing five animals.
Acting on reliable information received at Police Station Ghagwal about bovine smuggling, a police party of PS Ghagwal headed by its SHO laid a strong Naka at Rai Morh, Tapyal and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing Registration Number, JK08E-2247 coming from Kathua side and moving towards Srinagar.
During checking of the vehicle five bovines were found laden inside the vehicle, which were being transported illegally without any permission. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 09/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
