5 bovines rescued, vehicles seized

SAMBA: Dec 21: District police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggling bovines by rescuing five animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding smuggling of bovines towards Valley, a police party of PS Ghagwal laid a surprise naka on link road near village Radyal, Ghagwal and signalled a Tata Mobile vehicle to stop for checking which was without Registration Number. The vehicle, which was coming from Kathua side through Bein Nallah track and moving towards Samba side instead of stopping, the driver accelerated the speed and abandoned it at a few meters distance away from naka point when chased by the naka party.
However, taking advantage of the darkness, the driver managed to escape from the spot.
During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside it. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 130/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
