RAJOURI, Apr 21: At least five cattle including three buffaloes were killed while a house totally damaged when a strong beam of lightning during thunder storm struck Khah No. 2 village in Kotranka area of district Rajouri last mid night.
The incident took place at around 1 am when the family was asleep. Suddenly amidst thunder storm the lightning struck the house of one Mohd Bashir, son of Mir Mohd, causing extensive damage. The family members ran to safety while their five cattle including three buffaloes, a cow and ox were killed besides over a dozen chicken. The house hold items were also burnt in the incident. The family lost its valuables and Rs 20,000 cash as well in the fire incident. No loss of human life was reported.
