5-day musical therapy workshop concludes

JAMMU, Aug 12: The five-day spiritual music therapy workshop going on in the jail premises of District Jail, Ambphalla, concluded today with the live performance on music therapy by world famous Meditation Guru and founder of Swarangan Meditation, Raj Kumar Dogra.
The workshop was organised by Swarangan Meditation Charitable Trust (SMCT) in collaboration with the senior officials of District Jail, Ambphalla.
While giving in-depth details of the benefits of music therapy to the 500 prisoners of the jail, in the presence of jail Superintendent, Dr Vinod Anand, Dogra said that the past record of such workshops has given very good results, which has further encouraged him to reach more people in hospitals, jails, orphan houses etc, with a motive to free the people from stress and strain.
” Not only in India but at foreign soils including UK, Italy, France, Germany, London and Holland, this therapy has been proved more beneficial than costly medicines and surgeries in cases related to prolonged illness and other physical and mental ailments”, he said adding, the therapy has direct impact on soul and brings down the level of stress and strain.
He declared that the Trust will be organising more workshops in the coming days in order to extend the benefits to the needy people in their respective places.
The Jail Superintendent honoured Dogra and his team members including Trustee, Payal Dogra and Tabla player, Bhavya Sharma, with letters of appreciation for giving their precious time and performance during the workshop. He said that the therapy will indeed leave a mark on the minds and souls of the prisoners, who will surely feel a change in their mindset and approach towards the society.
Prominent figures of civil society including Dr RR Khajuria and Dr SK Jain were present on the occasion.
