Srinagar, Feb 21:  “Kashmir police needs to reaffirm their commitment towards the legacy of humaneness that they have inherited to deliver better services to the people and, the development of soft skill programme was just an attempt to reiterate this trait in them”, stated Inspector General of Police A G Mir on the valedictory function of 5-day Soft Skill Development Programme held at College of Education Srinagar here today.
Inspector General of Police A G Mir in his address said that the programme for development of Soft Skills was conceived after accessing the perception of the public during public interactions on various visits to different districts in the last year.
“It was felt that during the last 25 years of turmoil the people of our state have faced immense hardships, the expectations of people towards J&K police also increased in these times.  He said that Police work often requires the exercise of independent judgment within limited time frames; and this exercise of independent judgment must also follow proscribed procedures and protocols of law. Human life as it is; is probably a set of experiences which can be so varied that to formulate a set of rules and protocols to deal with all of them is actually impossible’, he said.
