5 -days training programme on PMKSY concludes

JAMMU, Mar 1: Five days training programme on Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojna (PMKSY) concluded today. The training programme had started on February 25 and 30 farmers form different parts of Jammu province participated in it.
It was organized by Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension) A K Malhotra. While interacting with farmers Mr Malhotra said that the programme has been organized to educate farmers regarding implementation of PMKSY scheme  to provide water to every field and make judicious use of water through micro irrigation i.e per drop more crop.
During the training programme different aspects of the scheme were covered like necessity of PMKSY Scheme, role of water in crop production, water requirement of different crops, critical stages of irrigation system in crops, rain water, roof water harvesting management etc.
During the training programme two days visit to SKUAST Jammu and Chinore Farm was also conducted where the farmers were shown established integrated diversified farming system in which all activities of agriculture , horticulture, floriculture, fisheries and dairies were covered.
Experts for Department including Mr Malhotra, R K Hitishi SMS, K K Sharma, i/C CSS, Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu, Arun Makhnotra, P O, R K Thaploo, SMS, O P Sharma and R R Raina AEOs, Dr Vijay Khajuria Scientist from SKUAST, Dr Samnotra and Vivek Sahi form ACTECH India Ltd made valuable contribution in the programme.
