Srinaga,r Nov 23: Kashmir today recorded five deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1,641 while 351 positive cases were reported from Valley.
A man from Charar-e-Sharief and a woman from Laisoo Kulgam district died of COVID in Kashmir. A man from Shahlaal in district Kupwara, and two men from Srinagar’s Eidgah and Dalgate areas died of COVID today.
With these deaths, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached 1079.
Srinagar district with 405 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 159, Budgam 99, Pulwama 86, Kupwara 81, Anantnag 77, Bandipora 50, Kulgam 49, Ganderbal 37 and Shopian 36.
And Kashmir reported 351 positive cases taking the number of positive cases in J&K to 106,899.
And those who tested positive include 79 from Srinagar, 16 Baramulla, 23 Budgam, 10 Pulwama, 17 Kupwara, 4 Anantnag, 4 Bandipora, 6 Ganderbal, 3 Kulgam and 4 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 22,429 positive cases including 405 deaths and 20,605 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,259 including 159 deaths and 6,618 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,728 including 6,326 recoveries and 99 deaths are from Budgam, 4,997 including 4,759 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,076 including 81 deaths and 4,484 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,507 including 4,286 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,343 cases including 4,122 and 50 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,104 including 3,837 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,579 including 2,464 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,305 including 2,198 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Shopian.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir division is 64,327 including 59,699 recoveries and 1,079 deaths.
The total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,431 including 3,549 from Kashmir division.
With 608 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 99,827, which is 93.38 percent of the total cases.
So far 2,831,855 samples have been processed and 2,724,956 tested negative while as 106,899 tested positive. Among them, 5,431 persons are active, 99,827 persons have recovered and 1,641 persons died.
